The main advantage of the EPI sequence is the Abstract: Fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been gaining ability to acquire data on a 2D slice (or a 3D volume) in a duration increasing interest in both clinical radiology and research. Echoplanar imaging less than 100 ms. This makes EPI the sequence of choice when (EPI) offers a unique potential, as it can be used to acquire images very fast. It multiple measurements of a region of interest are desired with can be used to freeze motion, or to get multiple images with various contrast different contrasts or time information, or when subject motion mechanisms that allow studying the microstructure and function of the fetal cannot be controlled.
