Editor’s Introduction INTRODUCTION Theodore J. Dubinsky, MD ‘I feel like a number Feel like a number Feel like a stranger A stranger in this land I feel like a number I’m not a number I’m not a number Dammit I’m a man I said I’m a man’ Bob Seger, ‘‘Feel Like a Number’’ y name is Theodore J. Dubinsky MD and I’m a radiologist at the University of MWashington. The best way to describe what I do as a radiologist is that last year I performed 8,317 RVU’s worth of radiology, which resulted in $1.3 million in billings, $821,000 in collections. When I’m on ultrasound, I average 72.4 cases/day, on CT 52 cases/ day. My average turn around time from exam completion to final report was 10.1 hours, and turn around time from preliminary report done by a fellow or resident to final report was 3.7 hours. Both are within acceptable limits. I average 5.2 Radpeer cases per day of which 97% are 1’s, 1.3% are 2’s, and less than 0.2% are 3’s or 4’s that affected clinical care. I received an email the other day notifying me that my critical results reporting had fallen 2 standard deviations below the mean http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Ultrasound quarterly Wolters Kluwer Health
