Comments from the Editor EDITORIAL Philip W. Ralls, MD he December 2006 issue of Ultrasound Quarterly marks the end my second year as T editor-in-chief. It has been an eventful year at the Journal, with many changes. We have implemented Editorial Manager, the online manuscript submission and management system. Editorial Manager has worked well; yet, we are trying to improve it, especially to make manuscript submission easier for our authors. Lippincott Williams & Wilkins has moved journal production offshore, without a noticeable decrease in quality. We have implemented some new ideas, notably the single-topic special issue on contrast put together by guest editors Stephanie Wilson and Peter Burns. I am in the early stages of planning other such special issues. Other things we attempted did not succeed: an example of this is What Is Your Diagnosis?Vthe response to which wasVto put it mildlyV underwhelming! I pledge that we will not give up trying to innovate with the purpose of increasing Ultrasound Quarterly`s value to our readers. Assistant editor Carrie Sofka`s reviews of the recent ultrasound literature are wonderful and remain the most popular regular item in the Journal.
