This review will cover the main classes of drugs used in mental health, namely, antidepressant drugs, mood stabilizers and antipsychotic drugs. The adverse effects of other agents used in psychiatry such as cholinesterase inhibitors, anxiolytics, and hypnotics are outside its scope.
