Xenotransplant News International Xenotransplantation Association (IXA) Nominations are invited by the Secretary of the IXA, Donald Cramer, for the offices of President‐Elect (2001–2003) and Councillor (3) (2001– 2005). Centers wishing to host the 2003 Congress of the IXA are also invited to contact the Secretary through June Viau of the managing agents of the IXA, Felicissimo & Associates in Montreal, Canada (tel: 514‐874‐1998, fax: 514‐ 874‐1580, e‐mail: june@fa‐events.com ). The 2001 Congress of the IXA will be held at the Chicago Sheraton Hotel and Towers from 29 September to 3 October 2001. The deadline for ab‐stract submission is 25 May. Accepted abstracts will be published in Xenotransplantation. Report of the Xenotransplantation Advisory Committee of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation* In August 1999, the President of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) set up a Xenotransplantation Advisory Committee charged with drawing up a white paper on the present status of xenotransplantation and its potential role in the future of the treatment of patients with end‐stage cardiac and pulmonary diseases.
