Triboelectric Nanogenerators: Capacitor‐Integrated Triboelectric Nanogenerator Based on Metal–Metal Contact for Current Amplification (Adv. Energy Mater. 15/2018)

Triboelectric Nanogenerators: Capacitor‐Integrated Triboelectric Nanogenerator Based on... TRIBOELECTRIC NANOGENERATORS In article 1703024 by Dongseob Kim, Sangmin Lee, and co-workers, a capacitor integrated triboelectric nanogenerator (CI-TENG) is reported to be the first TENG to utilize the capacitor principle to amplify electrical power output. The CI-TENG developed in this study is a potential solution for high-power generation of TENGs and a potential future power source for portable electronics. The image represents the sheet metal (capacitor electrode)-polymer-metal (TENG electrode) composite of CI-TENG releasing high current output to an electrode on the other side, and charging a portable device.
