With a P1cs. I. INTRODUCTION In November of r, the writer together with Messrs. C. Wang, T. C. Chow and S. H. Lee were sent by the Geological Survey of China to investigate the tin p&acer deposits in Fuchuan, Hohsien, Chungshan' in northeastern Kuingsi and Kianghua' in southern Husmo, herein known collectively as the Fuhochungkiang area. Altogether about two months were spent in the field, and a geological map in the scale of a :r0000 was made asid a series of preliminary reports was prepared and distributed during the lirst month of the ncxt year. Since that time, the writer, together with Mr. Wang, were instructed ro study the minerai resources of western Iuangsi and northern Yunnan, while thc other assistants induding at the tinte also Messrs. T. C. Chow, C. Yen nd C. J. Peng semained at Patpo to continue the work.
