Sunyatsen Univer- sity', in 1930.31, was the geological study of the high mountains of the Tibetan Border, especially south of Tatsienlu (fl ), which are considered the highest of China proper. Since the classic work done by L. y. Lóczy of the Szchenyi Expedition as early as 1877.1880, published in 1893, no geologist seems to have visited the region, and y. Lóczy himself only has seen these marvelous snow mountains at a long distance. The highest peak South of Ta- tsienlu, which he called "Bokunka" was measured as 7,500 meters, while north of Tatsienlu, a mountain called Jara was found to be even 7,800 meters. Pro. fessor Imhof's survey of our expedition, with the most modern instruffients, although confirming Kreitner's result of "Bokunka", has found Jara, the King of Mountains", as not even reaching 6,0005.
