The fundamentals of process intensification: A book review The Fundamentals of Process Intensification is summarized, categorized, and evaluated for its use by academics, PhD students, MSc students, and industrial practitioners. The book describes four principles to obtain process intensification (PI) via research. Nearly all established process intensified technologies are described and have been placed in four domains for clarity. Also provided is information for most PI technologies on how to score safety, environment, and economic criteria. Finally, a process design method based on the principles, domains, and criteria scores is presented. The book is very relevant for academic research in PI and the established PI technology descriptions are very helpful for industrial process concept designers.
