Diphenylmethyltin(IV) mono‐, di‐, and trichloroacetate have been synthesized and characterized by infrared, 1H, 13C, 119Sn NMR, and mass spectroscopy. Infrared spectroscopy indicates that the prepared organotin carboxylates possess chain polymer structures. NMR data show that the mono‐ and dichloro derivatives do not retain the solid state structure in solution. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
