Strengthening the Journal by Expanding the Editorial Board

Strengthening the Journal by Expanding the Editorial Board Obviously, the quality of a scientific journal hinges on the quality of the material submitted to the journal. Clearly, the Editorial Board has a highly important role in this context, and I am delighted to announce that we have added nine new names to our list of Editors. The new members of the Editorial Board are presented below. They are all prominent experts in the field of xenotransplantation, and having them on board will evidently enhance the standing of the Journal. Each editor is asked to submit at least one article annually, from his/her research group; submitting more articles would, of course, be even better! I would like to welcome the following individuals to the Editorial Board of Xenotransplantation : Kazuhiko Yamada, MD, PhD, Boston, USA. Olle Korsgren, MD, PhD, Uppsala, Sweden. Shuji Miyagawa, MD, PhD, Osaka, Japan. Ryszard T. Smolenski, Harefield, UK. R. Duane Davis, MD, Durham, USA. Bernhard Hering, MD, Minneapolis, USA. Guerard W. Byrne, PhD, Rochester, USA. Donald Cramer, DVM, PhD, Los Angeles, USA. Gilles Blancho, MD, Nantes, France. Furthermore I would like to welcome Dr. Michael E. Breimer , as the new Editor of the Transplant News Section. He has already contributed judicial reports on various interesting events around the world, in the first two issues of the journal 2008. There are also a few editors that have retired. I would like to thank them for their time, and great dedication to the Journal. Jonathan P. Fryer, Chicago, USA. Jean‐Paul Soulillou, Nantes, France. Jan N. M. Ijzermans, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
