There can be an association with the topic of professional ethics that is akin to the association we have with learning times tables, manners, acting lawfully, and learning to respect our elders. That is, that ethics is about the rules and regulations we internalize from training, supervision, and our ethical codes that will guide us into working safely and legally. If you are picking up this journal wondering what a whole edition on ethics could cover, whether we will be going over rules and telling you how to behave, then you may well be thinking two things: firstly that is going to be one dry read , and secondly: I am already ethical, so that is reading I can miss .
