Minutes of Business Meeting held on Wednesday 27 October 1999 at 4:00 p.m. at Nagoya Congress Center Approximately 80 members were present, with the President, Carl Groth, in the chair. Minutes of business meeting held in Montreal on 15 July 1998 The Minutes had been distributed to all members previously. There was no discussion and the Minutes were accepted unanimously and signed by the President. There were no matters arising from the Minutes. President's report The President felt that the Nagoya Congress had been a great success and he thanked Hiroshi Takagi and his colleagues for the excellent organization. He also mentioned that Dr Thomas Starzl had been elected an Honorary Fellow and he called on members to write to the incoming President if they wished to suggest other distinguished scientists or physicians for Honorary Fellowship of the Association. Secretary/Treasurer's report David Cooper informed the Association that there were now 279 fully paid up members (221 full members, 37 associate members and 21 junior members), as well as 48 Founding members who had not yet renewed their membership. He informed the membership that the Association's financial assets were $16 048, of which $10 000 was a loan from
