President's Report

President's Report much clearer that the Constitution must reflect a process of development, not a contemporary version of stone tablets bearing prescriptive words of wisdom handed down by a higher authority at a certain moment in time. Such an aim - process rather than prescription - is after all more in keeping with the philosophy (dare I say epistemology) of an organization and a community such as ours. To the Executive-Secretary Jim Crawley, Treasurer ; Malcolm Robinson, and Editor Max Cornwell - our , thanks are due for the many hours of labour which ensure the production of the Journal. Max continues his remarkable feats of procreation both with the Journal and recently with the arrival of a second infant. Needless to say, none of this would be possible without the matching creativity and endurance of Erika Cornwell. Ms Helen Tompson has replaced Gerry Nicholas as secretary to the Editor, and has proven invaluable her efficiency and resourcefulness are surpassed only by her delightful courtesy. To our Associate Editors, Catherine Sanders and Brian Stagoll, to our Section Co-ordinators, and to the many dedicated people who keep the Journal going, our thanks once more.
