Bruning Award” of the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology at the Federation’s annual meeting in Houston (10/28/77). The award recognized Professor Billmeyer “for his outstanding contribution to the science of color in the field of coatings technology.” The award is given in memory of Armin (Joe) Bruning who was a pioneer in the application of color science to paint technology. It was established in 1962, and is considered to be a major recognition in the field of industrial paint and color. At RPI, Professor Billmeyer heads The Rensselaer Color Measurement Laboratory which addresses research, graduate education and industrial liaison in the science and technology of color. Professor Billmcyer joined the RPI faculty in 1964 after nearly 20 years in plastics research at Du Pont. He earned his Ph.D. at Cornell University. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Color Research & Application Wiley
