It was possible to calculate break‐through curves according to Glueckauf and Fröhlich on the basis of kinetic primary data about the sorption of nickel on the carboxylic resins WOFATIT CA 20, WOFATIT CO, KB‐2 and KB‐4. Variations in the process were expressed correctly too. The regeneration of the resins with hydrochlorid acid was investigated by using a statistical test plan. The data were interpreted with a regression analysis. According to the results it was possible to give a definition of the elution regime in consideration of economic points of view.
