Michael Bittman (FASSA) is an Adjunct Professorial Fellow in the Discipline of Sociology at the University of New England and a Research Associate at the Centre for Time Use Research, University of Oxford. In recent years, his research has focused on the organisation of care within families. Dina Bowman is a senior manager in the research and policy centre at the Brotherhood of St Laurence. She is an honorary fellow in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on the processes and experience of inequality, particularly in relation to work, gender, age, disability and care issues. Bruce Bradbury is a Senior Research Fellow at the Social Policy Research Centre (University of New South Wales). His research interests include the measurement of living standards, child poverty, income support, labour market policies, consumer equivalence scales, and geographic dimensions of social policies. He is a member of the academic advisory committees for both of Australia’s large-scale, longitudinal surveys, the Household Income and Labour Dynamics Australia (HILDA) and the Longitudinal Survey of Australian Children (LSAC).
