Margaret Alston, OAM is Professor and Head of Department of Social Work at Monash University where she also leads the Gender, Leadership and Social Sustainability research unit. From 2008–14 she headed the Australian Council of heads of Schools of Social Work. She has published widely in the field of social work, gender, climate change and disasters. Keith Jacobs is an Australian Research Council Future Fellow based in the School of Social Sciences, University of Tasmania. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Housing Studies and the international advisory boards of Housing Theory and Society and International Journal of Housing Policy. He is currently working on a monograph for Reaktion Press titled Housing: A Post War History. Peter Saunders currently holds a Research Chair in the Social Policy Research Centre, University of New South Wales. His research interests include poverty and inequality, household needs and living standards, social exclusion, social security reform and comparative social policy. His recent research has focused on the measurement of poverty and inequality, and identifying deprivation and social exclusion in Australia.
