High‐Energy Impact Back in 2011, I was both thrilled and grateful when some of the earliest reviewer reports in papers submitted to Advanced Energy Materials contained statements such as “—suitable for a high‐impact journal such as Advanced Energy Materials —”, or even “—high impact factor journal like Advanced Energy Materials —”. Some such sentences even dated back to before the announcement that Thomson‐Reuters ISI had accepted AEnM for inclusion in Web of Science and its Impact Factor calculations. Given the potence of Impact Factors as a research career currency in recent years, the community's perception of the journal was perhaps the most important early‐stage component in its success. This was difficult to gauge before launch even though we received much encouragement and acclaim for the 2010 special section in our mother journal Advanced Materials , where it all began. We are now, two years later, very grateful to see that the community was right about investing trust and many of their best papers into this new journal.
