Vamos The London Mathematical Society was founded in 1865 for the promotion and extension of mathematical knowledge and is now the major British learned society for mathematics. Its principal activities are the publication of periodicals and books and the organization of meetings and conferences. Members of the Society are entitled to subscribe to the Society's periodicals, and certain other mathematical periodicals, for their personal use at reduced rates. Also, copies of books in series sponsored by the Society are available to members for their personal use at discounted prices. A monthly newsletter is distributed free of charge to members. The Society has reciprocity membership agreements with most other national mathematical societies.
