Forthcoming Color Meetings 4th Annual Conference of Canadian SOciety for Color The Canadian Society for Color in Art, Industry and Science will hold its 4th Annual Conference at the University of Ottawa on May 12-14, 1976. The theme of the Conference will be "Colorants." While some of the sessions will be of a technical nature, the program will also include presentations which will explain some ofthe behavior of colorants in nontechnical terms. The application of colorants in industry and in art will also be covered. International Color Congress to be Held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1977 COLOR 77, the third Congress of the International Colour Association, will be held on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, on July 10-15, 1977. The Congress will be cosponsored by the Inter-Society Color Council and the Canadian Society for Color. A First Notice and Call for Papers was sent out early in 1976. The following appointments have been made, and preliminary correspondence should be addressed to: General Chairman: ISCC 1976 Annual Meeting to Feature Ralph M. Evans Memorial Symposium The 45th Annual Meeting of the Inter-Society Color Council will be held at the Statler-Hilton Hotel, New York, on Monday and Tuesday, April 26 and 27, 1976. The meeting will feature a symposium in memory of the late Ralph Merrill Evans, distinguished color scientist and Secretary of the ISCC from 1952 to 1970. The Symposium will feature talks on Evans's research on the perception of color [see also the review o/his book with that title in this issue-Ed.] and on the related Land Retinex theory. The reception and banquet of the Council will be held on Tuesday evening, April 27. During the banquet the Council's Macbeth Award will be presented to the 1976 recipient. The banquet speaker and topic will be announced at a later date. On Monday, April 26, meetings of the ISCC Problems subcommittees will be held, in both morning and afternoon sessions open to members and guests. There will be discussion of color aptitUde testing, fluorescence, color standards, strength of colorants, metamerism, color in the building industry, color problems in photography and printing, human response to color, color difference problems, and color matching in dentistry.
