Ethiopia: Opposition Alliance

Ethiopia: Opposition Alliance An alliance of Ethiopian opposition groups called Unity of Ethiopians for Democratic Change ( UEDC ) has been formed in a bid to take the Ethiopian people's struggle to victory and shorten the life of the Ethiopian regime in power. The organisations which formed the union are four armed Ethiopian organisations, which are waging an armed struggle to remove the regime from power. They are the Tigray People's Democratic Movement ( TPDM ), operating in northern Ethiopia; the Ethiopian People's Patriotic Front ( EPPF ), operating mainly in northwestern Ethiopia; the Southern Ethiopia People's Front for Justice and Equality ( SEPFJE ) operates in southern Ethiopia and the Benishangul People's Movement ( BPM ) in western Ethiopia. In a joint communiqué, the organisations said that they would further enhance their military, political, propaganda and cultural activities under the leadership of UEDC. The organisations called on Ethiopians living in the country and abroad, opposition groups and the Ethiopian soldiers to stand alongside the alliance and give their support in the struggle against the weyane regime. Abstract

An alliance of Ethiopian opposition groups called Unity of Ethiopians for Democratic Change ( UEDC ) has been formed in a bid to take the Ethiopian people's struggle to victory and shorten the life of the Ethiopian regime in power.
