Editorial: News from the editors Happy New Year and welcome to Volume 16 of Developmental Science We are writing to introduce ourselves as newly appointed co‐Editors of Developmental Science. Developmental Science has become a leading journal in the field since its inception in 1998. During the past years under the Editorship of Denis Mareschal, Paul Quinn, and Mark Johnson, the journal has taken a leading role in representing the very best of contemporary developmental science, including developmental psychology, developmental cognitive and affective neuroscience, and related sub‐disciplines within paediatrics, doing so at the level of theory and at the level of empirical reports. During our term as Editors, we aim to continue the strong growth of the journal and to broaden its scope. Our goal will be to focus on work that elucidates the mechanisms of developmental change and is based in solid theoretical frameworks, and thereby provide a publication outlet of choice for communicating novel work that pushes the field forward. We are very pleased that Paul Quinn will be retaining his role with the journal and will continue his excellent work with the rapid internal review committee. Since January 2012, the journal has been published on‐line only. We aim during our term to build on existing features of the online format of the journal, such as video abstracts, and to develop them further to help facilitate dissemination of articles and supporting materials in a variety of formats, and to encourage debate on issues raised. We look ahead with excitement to our term as we take Developmental Science forward. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Developmental Science Wiley

Abstract

We are writing to introduce ourselves as newly appointed co‐Editors of Developmental Science.
