Abstract
Summary Myxobolus colossomatis n. sp. (Myxosporea) is described from a pond‐cultured Amazon River fish (Colossoma macropomum). The parasite cysts developed in the connective tissue of the fins, gills, heart, liver and serous membranes around the intestine.
