Authors wishing to submit a paper should send two copies to an appropriate member of the Editorial Board. Addresses of members of the Board will be found on pages ii, iii of the index of the most recent complete volume of the BULLETIN, and also on the back cover of each issue of the PROCEEDINGS. Papers may be submitted in English, French or German. The Society allocates papers among the three periodicals according to length. Longer papers are normally published in the PROCEEDINGS and shorter papers in the JOURNAL. The BULLETIN publishes survey articles, short research papers, book reviews and obituaries. No manuscript submitted should have previously been published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are advised to retain a copy of anything submitted for publication since neither the Society nor the printers can accept liability for loss. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to assign copyright to the Society. Preparation of manuscripts Manuscripts should be typewritten on one side of the paper, double spaced and with generous margins. Authors are strongly advised to consult the Society's 'Notes for Contributors' (BULLETIN 14 (1982) 573-576), copies of which may be obtained from the Editors. In particular, authors should write so that sentences read naturally, even when they incorporate formulae. For instance, sentences should not begin with a formula or symbol, and overabbreviation, such as the use of'iff' for 'if and only if, is best avoided. Complicated subscripts, superscripts, and ranges of summation should be avoided by rewriting. References should be collected in alphabetical order at the end of the paper and numbered consecutively, and authors should consult a recent issue to see how headings are printed. A primary classification number from the American Mathematical Society's 1980 Mathematics Subject Classification scheme should appear at the bottom of the first page of the manuscript. The printer must have the original typescript or a clear copy of it. Instructions explaining the use of symbols that may be easily confused, such as e (epsilon) and e (belongs to), and any special typeface, such as script or Gothic, should also be provided. Offprints Authors of papers printed in the BULLETIN or JOURNAL are entitled to receive 100 copies (without covers) or 50 copies (with covers) of their papers free of cost. Authors of papers appearing in the PROCEEDINGS receive 50 copies of their papers free of cost. Further copies can be obtained at the approximate cost of production. Order forms are sent to authors with the proofs. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society Wiley
