An Evaluation of Packaged Parent Education Programs

An Evaluation of Packaged Parent Education Programs Acceptance of parents as educators of their children has assisted in the recent rise of enthusiasm for teaching parenting skills. Six contemporary parenting models are described, compared and evaluated in the light of current research. Although parents are often advised to equalize power between parent and child, it is shown that parental power is always exercised. It is recommended that an eclectic approach would apply techniques contingently, and coordinate socioemotional and cognitive development. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Australian Journal of Social Issues Wiley

Abstract

Acceptance of parents as educators of their children has assisted in the recent rise of enthusiasm for teaching parenting skills.
