About the authors

About the authors is working at a multinational company as a software development engineer. JANOS SCHANDA, D. S., is professor emeritus and affiliated with the DIPN at the University of Veszprem. He lectures on radiometry, photometry, color´ imetry, and visual computer interface systems and is Scientific Advisor to the Colour and Multimedia Laboratory. He has special interest in color rendering, color constancy, and lighting issues related to using LED sources. Currently he is the President of the Hungarian National Committee of the CIE and chairs four International Commission for Illumination (CIE) Technical Committees: TC 1–59 on developing a large-field photometric observer, TC 1– 66 on defining an indoor daylight illuminant, TC 2–16, which deals with the characterization of Tristimulus colorimeters, and TC 8 – 06 on terminology in imaging. He also chairs the mailing list on CIE Educational Matters and is the Secretary of the CIE for the quadrennium 1999 –2007. He is on the editorial board of this journal and on the International Advisory Board of Lighting Research & Technology in the UK and the Journal of Light and Visual Environment in Japan.
