S. degree in electrical engineering from the National Tsing Hua University in 1984. From 1984 until 1987 he worked at the Electronic Research and Service Organization of the Industrial Technology Research Institute as a design engineer. In 1989, he received an M. S. degree from the Institute of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Chiao Tung University. Since 1989, he has been working toward a Ph. D. degree in the same institute. His current research interests include computer vision, machine learning, knowledge discovery in databases, and color science. WEN-HSING HSU received a B. S. in Electrical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University in 1972, and M. E. and Doctor of Engineering degrees in Electrical Engineering from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1978 and 1982, respectively. In 1982 he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University and is currently a professor there. He also joined the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, R.O.C., as associate research fellow in 1984 and is currently a research fellow there.
