Plattner Awards for 2003 Kenneth and Elissa May Plattner established the Denny C. Plattner Awards in 1995 to honor their late son, Denny, and his lovefor writing. First place winners each receive $200.00, and all winners in each category receive a bookrack from Berea College Crafts with a personalized plaque commemorating their achievement. This year Andrew Plattner, brother of the late Denny C. Plattner, judged the award. He wrote, "As I read over all the stories, poems, memoirs and interviews, Ifelt carried away by these lovingly constructed time machines. And after the trip was over, picking winners was more difficult than betting the right horse in the Kentucky Derby. But I am confident I selected deserving ones." Thanks to the Plattner family and congratulations to those honored.
