Locked in Dark Calm symbolizes the experience of having to process anger inside of a controlled and contained environment. It also represents a turning point in my life. To be able to move forward, it is necessary to have a creative outlet for disrespect and trauma. Art has become an extension of my very being. It’s my past experience with the justice system and my ongoing experience of never being able to fully shed that skin.
