Cassie hoped that was true. She hoped that God would realize she was here and would answer her prayer as He seemed to have answered Aileen's. "We eat first," Aileen said. In the yard, crowds of people walked around. Children played tag and hide and seek. Men in dark suits nodded as they passed. All of the women carried food. Cassie wished she had something. "Why Aileen Marshall, honey, git yourself right in here," one of the women called.
