For all its ¯aws, Indus Age: The Writing System compiles a fair amount of information and gives a useful general summary of the state of the art with regard to the Indus script. Those seeking a more accurate and sophisticated treatment, especially from a linguistic point of view, however, would do best to look elsewhere, for instance at Asko Parpola's Deciphering the Indus Script (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1994).
