Henle Verlag and the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin announce Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: Autographs and Copies, edited by Hans-Günther Klein (207pp. ISBN: 3-87328-111-2). From Bärenreiter a new vocal score of Beethoven's Fidelio, based on the scholarly critical edition of the full score prepared by Helga Lühning and Robert Didion, is an advance publication from the Beethoven Gesamtausgabe and the first to make use of all the major sources. Contributors to this issue: John Michael Cooper is associate professor of music history at the University of North Texas. He is the author of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: A Guide to Research (Routledge) and Mendelssohn's "Italian" Symphony (Oxford), and coeditor, with Julie D. Prandi, of The Mendelssohns: Their Music in History (Oxford). Simon Morrison is an assistant professor of music history at Princeton University. He is the author of Russian Opera and the Symbolist Movement (2002) and is currently working on Prokofiev: The Soviet Years for Oxford University Press. Simon Perry is a lecturer in the School of Music, at the University of Queensland, Australia.
