From mobile apps to embedded systems, software enables many organizations to function. The traditional software development methodology is called the waterfall approach. This traditional method has an extensive history, but it also has shortcomings. The formal phases of this traditional method can become lengthy. Therefore, alternative methodologies, such as agile, seek to shrink the development time. Initially, agile methods were a response to the traditional waterfall approach and were used for smaller projects, but now, they are used in larger projects. The term “agile” was first used in the manifesto for agile management. Now 8 out of 10 organizations are committed to the adoption of agile software development. According to Computer Associates, in 2018, 40% of the respondents considered the information technol- ogy organization to be agile. Scrum is one of the most popular agile methodologies. A scrum (short for scrummage) is a method of restarting play in rugby.
