Aimed at East Asian studies’ scholars and experts in defense and strategy, the book explores traditional as well as non-traditional security threats that pose common but varying levels of threat to India and Japan as regional powers in the Asia Pacific. The study provides empirical as well as quantitative analyses to discuss the strategic imperatives underlying Indo-Japanese relations, i.e. the economy and the geo-strategic location, and argues for the need for proactively deepening the diplomatic relations that commenced in 2000 followed by their defense and strategic cooperation since 2008 until early 2019.
