Book Review Reviewed by: Roberto Vinaja Edited by Stanislaw Wrycza Springer- Verlag Berlin Heidelberg, Germany; 2011, 112 pages. ISBN-13: 978-3-642-25675-2 Systems Analysis and Design is considered to be one of the core areas in the IS field. While there is extensive literature on modeling and methodologies in practitioner outlets and related disciplines like software engineering, it is encouraging to see a renewed interest in this area from IT researchers. The book Research in Systems Analysis and Design brings an interesting perspective from European researchers, especially from some Eastern European countries like Poland, Russia, and Ukraine. The first section contains papers on business process modeling. The first chapter, "Reengineering University: Modeling Business Processes to Achieve Strategic Goals," is based on organizational analysis of a national research university. The steps included are: identifying strategic goals, creating a goal tree and a correlation matrix between processes and goals, calculating the relative impact of processes on goals, the implementation of business process reengineering and business process modeling notation, and the use of simulation for the analysis of key business processes. The chapter "SysML Requirement Diagrams: Banking Transactional Platform Case Study" describes the applications of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) SysML incorporates several extensions to
