ISBN: 0273643525 The Brazilian publishing sector on IT research and practice is deficient. In fact, just a few good titles are available from Brazilian authors, and international translations also almost do not exist. This is intriguing since Brazil developed tremendously in the last decade (Luna & Klein, 2006) and IT adoption is assumed to have supported such developments, like in boosting labor productivity (De Mendonga, Freitas & De Souza, 2008). Among the few widely known titles available in the country, one finds Mastering Information Management - a Financial TirnesPrentice Hall book edited by Donald Marchand and Thomas Davenport and translated into Portuguese by Bookrnan publishing company in 2004. Since no review for the original book was found in international journals, and given that it is highly adopted in undergraduate and graduate courses in Brazil, we believe that the readers of JGITM would be interested in knowing more about it.
