In developing this text, many questions arose. at the Dawn of the Much has been said about technology, with views ranging from Technocene enthusiasm to indifference, caution, and anxiety. Numerous questions have been contemplated in great depth: Will we rule technology? Will others rule us using technology? or Will technol- ogy rule us? And, what is more, according to whose criteria, motiva- tions, and objectives will these questions be addressed? Which aspect of human conduct shall prevail: the good, the bad, or the ugly? Could self-conscious technology take over from humans, and if it does, toward what end? Indeed, are we already at the dawn of the Technocene, which implies facing the unbarred and explicit rule of technology over everything as we know it? Such questions suggest revisiting Albert Einstein’s proclamation that technology has exceeded our humanity.
