Leadership and Teams, an Assessment Within the Hospitality Management Classroom

Leadership and Teams, an Assessment Within the Hospitality Management Classroom The purpose of this article is to describe the results of an assessment of leadership, team-based learning, and core self-evaluation (CSE) among hospitality management students. The multiscale instrument used for this research included the Core Self-Evaluation Scale and the Student Leadership Practices Inventory. The participants in the study were divided into two groups, one randomly selected and one selected based on respondents' CSE. A comparison of these two groups based on leadership and assignment grade was conducted. The findings of this research suggest that high self-evaluators are stronger leaders. The findings from this research provide hospitality educators with new considerations when developing teams within a learning environment. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal Of Teaching In Travel & Tourism Taylor & Francis
