Editor's Desk ce "Fast, Cheap or Good; Pick any Two" Tom Stafford, Associate Editor, University of Memphis tstaffor@memphis.edu As we go to press this with this issue, I am reminded of the last editorial preface I wrote ... on the changing nature of outsourcing. And, most ironically, I find myself again facing recent experiences and impressions that motivate me to write about outsourcing, yet again. Likely it is one of the most important issues facing Global IT researchers in the modem day, as the practice is so prevalent. It is, in fact, so pervasive, that it begins to feel like a cult or a truism. I write about this pervasive and often non-deliberative tendency to send IT work abroad in Volume 14(2) of this journal, where I speculate that strong and pervasive stereotypes about where and what to outsource may well be driving managers to do so in a rather mindless fashion. You know... we outsource because everybody is doing it. A no-brainer,right? And, of course, if it's a manufacturing project, China is just where it needs to go, no need to think about it.
