Editorial Nordic Psychology, 2018 Vol. 70, No. 1, 1–2, https://doi.org/10.1080/19012276.2018.1432184 EDITORIAL Nordic Psychology celebrates 70-years anniversary this year. It is 70 years ago that a group of behearted and engaged psychologists in the Nordic countries decided to develop a new begin- ning for psychology in the Nordic Countries. After the horrors of the second war, the time called for coorperation and unity more fragmentation and hostile competition. We believe that this ambition of the psychologists who initiated Nordic psychology is as valid today as it were then. Happy anniversary Nordic Psychology!! “Investigating the Mediating Role of Cognitive Emotion Regulation in the Development of Adolescent Emotional Problems” by Malin Anniko, Katja Boersma, and Maria Tillfors is the first article of this issue. This article researches the maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation (cog- nitive avoidance and repetitive negative thinking) as a potential mediator in the development of anxiety and depressed mood over time in adolescence. As underlined in the article, previous research has indicated that cognitive emotion regulation strategies contribute to the develop- ment and maintenance of emotional problems in adults and adolescents. The article shows that cognitive emotion regulation tends to mediate the development of both anxiety and depressed mood over time, http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Nordic Psychology Taylor & Francis
