Editorial This issue of Nordic Psychology, as well as the next one, is devoted to papers presented at the Nordic Conference Psychotherapy and Supervision Research in Dialogue. The conference, which took place at the Stockholm University Department of Psychology on 21 and 22 October 2011, was arranged jointly by the Working Party for Psychotherapy Research in Sweden and the Department of Psychology (http://w3.psychology.su.se/terapiforskning). We hope that these two issues of Nordic Psychology will contribute to an interesting sample of ongoing research in the Nordic countries. Our ambition for the conference and the present publications is to stimulate Nordic collaboration and networking in these domains. This first issue focuses on psychotherapy research, current themes in Nordic psychotherapy research and the Nordic network. The next issue of Nordic Psychology will focus on professional development and supervision. Point of departure The point of departure for these two interconnected issues of Nordic Psychology is an ambition to stress the fact that psychotherapy research and research into the professional development of psychotherapists and into psychotherapy supervision are closely related. It is not possible to obtain promising effects of psychotherapy treatment if we do not know how to stimulate psychotherapists’ professional training and development.
