This book is part of the Springer Integrated Series in Information Systems. The editors for the series are Professor Ramesh Sharda and Professor Stefan Vop. Dr. Beroggi is professor and head of Management Information Systems at the Zurich School of Business and Administration. In the past he has been a visiting professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and an associate professor at Delft University of Technology. One of the main propositions in this book is that the integration of analytical tools and Internet-based multimedia into a decision support system is the basis for a more efficient and effective decision making process. Beroggi supports his theoretical discussion by providing empirical evidence and implementing his models in real-time interactive software tools. Instead of using existing off-the-shelf analytical software, he implemented these decision support systems in an Internet-based multimedia environment.
