The 7th International Conference on Fuzzy Information and Engineering (ICFIE’ 2014) was held at the Beijing Normal University in Zhuhai, GuangDong, China dur- ing November 7-11, 2014. In 2014, ICFIE was organized jointly with the 1st Inter- national Conference of Operations Research and Management (ICORM’ 2014). The president of the conference was Professor Bing-yuan Cao and the conference was sponsored by the Operations Research Society of Guangdong Province, China Op- erations Research Society of Fuzzy Information and Engineering Branch, the Inter- national Fuzzy Information and Engineering Association (chips) and Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai. The conference program included some invited plenary lectures given by distinguished keynote speakers, namely: Professor Witold Pedrycz, Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Computational In- telligence in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada; Professor Berlin Wu, National Chengchi University University, China Taiwan; Professor Bing-ru Yang, Beijing University of Science and Technology; Professor Joshua Huang, Shenzhen University (Australian national); Professor Zhi-feng Hao, Vice President,Guangdong Industry University; Professor Zeng-liang Liu,the National Defense University.
