After starting his professional carrier in 1984 as a chief engineer for computerization at Naftobudowa, where he gained experience in systems modeling, system analysis, andproject management, he cofounded Digitland in 1991, and has served as its president ever since. He also cofounded OTC S.A., a company providing software tools for database management, and fiom 1995 to 1999 served as that company's president. Since 2002 he has been a member of the supervisory board of OTC S.A. JGITM: What were some of the greatest challenges which you and your company have had to deal with since itsfounding? Wienba: Before founding Digitland in January 1991, after graduation from the Faculty of Automatics, Electrical Engineering and Electronics at the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, I gained a few years' experience at Naftobudowa, which at that time was a big, state-owned firm, having thirty divisions in Poland and thirty divisions abroad.
