It is possible to consider this new scholarship "gyn-ecology" in the truest sense of the word: wom­ en's health ecology. The purpose of this review was to describe contemporary nursing research on women's health. The review was organized to provide an overview of nursing research on women's health for 1980 to 1985; integrative reviews of two areas of women's health research in which significant contributions were made - perimenstrual symptoms, and women's roles and their health; and recommendations for future work.
