Abstract Methods based on the discrete wavelet transform are used to study ultrasonic pulses in aluminum single crystals. Longitudinal elastic waves propagating in the [111] crystallographic direction were generated at 5 MHz. Methods for filtering images of an acoustic field on the basis of wavelet transform are developed. Recommendations on the choice of filtering parameters are given.
