The possibilities of a new kind of micro-ecosystem in aquatic ecosystem research

The possibilities of a new kind of micro-ecosystem in aquatic ecosystem research A micro-ecosystem or microcosm is a collection of organisms belonging to various trophic levels composed in the laboratory in such a way that their mutual relations are similar to those found in nature. The aim of making a micro-ecosystem is twofold: 1. creating the possibility to make more accurate observations than possible in nature. 2. to have an opportunity to carry out experiments. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Aquatic Ecology Springer Journals

Abstract

A micro-ecosystem or microcosm is a collection of organisms belonging to various trophic levels composed in the laboratory in such a way that their mutual relations are similar to those found in nature.
