The appearance of dicarboximide resistance in Alternaria alternats in passionfruit in south-east Queensland

The appearance of dicarboximide resistance in Alternaria alternats in passionfruit in south-east... Isolates of Alternaria alternata resistant (EC50=290) and sensitive (EC50≦2) to iprodione were recovered from lesions on passionfruit fruit. Cross resistance to procymi-done and vinclozolin was demonstrated. The resistant strains remained stable after five transfers in the absence of the fungicide and behaved similarly to the iprodione-sensitive strains when tested against mancozeb and copper sulphate. Both iprodione-resistant and iprodione-sensitive strains were pathogenic to detached fruit. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Australasian Plant Pathology Springer Journals

Abstract

Isolates of Alternaria alternata resistant (EC50=290) and sensitive (EC50≦2) to iprodione were recovered from lesions on passionfruit fruit. Cross resistance to procymi-done and vinclozolin was demonstrated. The resistant strains remained stable after five transfers in the absence of the fungicide and behaved similarly to the iprodione-sensitive strains when tested against mancozeb and copper sulphate. Both iprodione-resistant and iprodione-sensitive strains were pathogenic to detached fruit.
