Gas diffusion layer (GDL) is one of the core components of proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), and its main function is to transfer water and air. A well-designed GDL can improve water management capability and performance of PEMFC. The preparation method of GDL will affect the transmission of water and gas. This paper first explores the influence of GDL prepared by spray method and squeegee method on PEMFC performance. This mainly includes polarization curve, power density, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and the stability of GDL preparation. Then, the durability performance of the GDL prepared by the best process was studied, at the same time, compared with GDL29BC. Through research, it is found that the GDL prepared by spraying method not only has good stability but also can obtain good performance, and the durability is lower than commercial GDL29BC.
